Mark Cracknell

Mark started his career in the British army as electronics engineer before specialising in medical engineering. During his 15-year tenure as a medical engineer he provided engineering planning, technical solutions, and support directly and remotely to deployed medical treatment facilities covering the entire patient care pathway, from point of injury to medical evacuation from operational theatres. This experience saw him selected to work within the Defence medical procurement team where he was responsible for providing quality, regulatory and engineering guidance to inform the procurement of medical equipment and material across the full Defence portfolio. Since leaving the military Mark has continued to work within the medical device quality and regulatory field implementing and maintain quality management systems for a number of organisations.

Awarded the Surgeon General's commendation for providing engineering support to the UK’s deployed medical treatment capabilities.

Developed a Quality Management System and equipment care maintenance regime to improve equipment uptime to above 95% within the UK’s high readiness deployable medical capabilities.

Deployed on military operations in support of medical capabilities in Africa and the Middle East.
